Starting an Ethnic Studies Course?

Support Ethnic Studies Everywhere!

As many of you know, I was privileged enough to teach Ethnic Studies to 9th grade students at Fremont High School in East Oakland for a number of years.  Now that I’ve left that position I want to make sure that I pass the knowledge I accumulated on to others taking on this role.

This is a link to a series of webinars I presented on behalf of the UC Berkeley History Social Science Project in July 2020.  During these webinars I provide support to teachers who are developing an Ethnic Studies course from the ground up, or are hoping to integrate Ethnic Studies concepts into existing K-12 Social Studies courses.

I also moderate a Facebook group for K-12 Ethnic Studies Educators where we exchange resources and instructional strategies.  Please feel free to join.

These links, as well as any worthwhile resources can be found on this site’s “Ethnic Studies” tab as well.
